Four big sources of heavy metals include:- Tap Water — Many cities have older lead pipes that the drinking water travels through, and this lead chips off into the water and contaminates it. Lead pipes are now illegal, but there are still some contaminated pipes. If you have an older home, you may want to double-check your pipes and update them if necessary.
- Fillings — One surprising source of heavy metals are dental fillings, particularly those made with a mixture of metals including mercury, copper and silver.
